JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In a season full of records, Jacksonville graduate student guard Priscilla Williams added another piece of program history to her resume. She was named ASUN Player of the Year, the first Jacksonville women’s basketball player to ever win the award.

Williams’ recognition comes after a historic final season in Jacksonville that saw the Dolphins finish second in the conference with a 21-8 overall record.

For the season, Williams finished second in scoring in the league with 15.6 points per game, tied for the league-lead in rebounds with 8.5 per game and ranked Top 20 in assists, steals and blocks per game.

In addition to steady production, Williams had higher peaks than any other player in the league and some of the best statistical games of any player in college basketball.

Against Central Arkansas, Williams smashed the school scoring record with 44 points, the only 40-point game from an ASUN player this season. That was one of six games with at least 25 points, and led to the second of her league-high four ASUN Player of the Week awards.

Williams scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Jacksonville to its first win over Florida Gulf Coast in nearly a decade, again winning ASUN Player of the Week. Her first weekly honor came after leading JU over Georgia Tech.

She scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Dolphins upset the Yellow Jackets for their first Power Conference win since 2021.

Williams’ ability to stuff the stat sheet is among the very best in college basketball. She recorded at least one point, rebound, assist, block and steal in 18 of her 28 appearances. She also led the ASUN in double-doubles with 10, ranking Top 50 nationally.

One of the ways Williams took the next step in her second JU season was her ability to get to the free throw line. She ranks Top 15 nationally in free throw makes and attempts this season. In her 44-point explosion against UCA, she also set the program record for free throw attempts (22) and makes (20).

In addition to being named Player of the Year, Williams was named to the All-ASUN First Team. Before the year, she was unanimously voted to the preseason All-ASUN Team.
