PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla (CBS12) — Police are investigating after gunfire struck a home Sunday afternoon, leaving a bullet lodged outside the home, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD).

Officers responded around 1:45 p.m. on March 1 after receiving reports of shots fired in a northwest Port St. Lucie neighborhood. When they arrived, they determined one home had been hit, though no injuries were reported.

Investigators released an image showing a bullet located outside the house, noting that the round did not enter the interior or injure anyone inside.

Detectives have not identified a suspect or determined a motive. Officers are canvassing the area along N.W. Commodore Terrace and reviewing any video captured by doorbell cameras or home security systems in the area.

The police department is urging residents to report anything unusual they may have seen around the time of the shooting. Even small details or brief video clips could help advance the case, officials said.
