HM Restaurant Group has promoted Reyes Martinez to general manager of Dixie Fish Company, its popular seafood restaurant currently ranked Tripadvisor’s No. 1 restaurant in the Fort Myers area. Martinez has spent his nine-year tenure with the company at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille’s Fort Myers Beach and St. Petersburg Pier locations.

“Reyes has been a valuable employee for nearly a decade and is a great addition to the Dixie Fish Company team,” said Joe Harrity, a partner with HM Restaurant Group, which manages the restaurant. “He’s an established leader who is dedicated to upholding our high standards for stellar food and customer service.”

Martinez is a certified guest service professional, completing the requirements in 2025.

“I enjoy working for HM Restaurant Group because it truly values collaboration and continuous improvement,” Martinez said. “I’ve had opportunities to take on new challenges and develop my skills, which have helped me grow professionally. I’m excited to continue learning and growing as the new general manager of Dixie Fish Company.”

Founded in 2015, Dixie Fish Company is renowned for its legendary service, delicious fresh seafood and made-to-order, made-from-scratch menu. An original Florida fish house, the restaurant’s origins date back to 1937 when it was primarily a fish market. Recognized as a 2023 Yelp Top 100 Florida Restaurant, the waterfront restaurant honors its history by serving the catch of the day and signature best-sellers, including apple moonshine- and white wine-spiked mussels, grouper “cheeks,” grouper Reuben sandwiches, whole fried fish and Yucatán shrimp.

Dixie Fish Company’s buttermilk-battered fried whole fish, served the “Dixie way” with garlic butter sauce, was featured on The Food Network. The restaurant also offers non-seafood selections, including salads, sandwiches and burgers.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Dixie Fish Company offers open-air waterfront dining overlooking scenic Matanzas Pass and live music most nights. It is located at 714 Fishermans Wharf, Fort Myers Beach.

HM Restaurant Group is committed to revitalizing Fishermans Wharf, a stretch of waterfront also anchored by Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Bonita Fish Company. The restaurant group is transforming the venue into a destination where locals and visitors enjoy fresh seafood, live music and relaxed coastal dining along Matanzas Pass.
