TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing over $50,000 in Department of Veterans Affairs funds, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Anthony Brewer, 47, pleaded guilty to theft of government property in December.
Court documents show that Brewer agreed to serve as a fiduciary under the VA’s fiduciary program and manage the benefits of someone who was unable to manage their own.

As part of the agreement, Brewer agreed to use the funds for the support and desires of the beneficiary.
Court records show that instead, Brewer stole those funds between October 2020 and January 2023.
He was ordered to pay $53,567 in restitution. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Brewer’s two year sentence will run consecutive to a state of Florida prison sentence he is currently serving.
