SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — The man accused of setting fire to multiple patrol vehicles at the Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie post back in September of 2023 will learn his fate at a sentencing later this month.
James Itani, 39 of Orlando, Florida, was charged with terrorism, third-degree arson and several counts of assault with intent to murder.

It stems from a situation where police say Itani doused patrol vehicles with gasoline and set them on fire before using a rifle to shoot at the vehicles.
Police said the next day, a search warrant was executed at a home and a shoot-out ensued.

Itani was hospitalized and no officers were injured.
