SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Newly obtained video by Local 10 News shows the moments a Seminole County teacher was taken into custody by deputies on sex and drug charges.
The arrest came after a former student came forward and told law enforcement about several disturbing incidents.
That teacher, identified by investigators as 49-year-old Mackenzie McLean, was arrested last month.
The former student, who is now 19 years old, told deputies McLean started making sexual advances toward him at her home one night, days after he moved in, investigators said.
The victim told law enforcement McLean gave him around a dozen shots of gin, and moments later she forced him to have sex with her, authorities said.
He then pushed her off of him and told her it was wrong, according to authorities.
Several days after the first incident, the victim told deputies McLean started preforming oral sex on the victim.
A friend of the teenager also told deputies McLean’s home was a place where high school kids hung out and were given alcohol and marijuana edibles.
Investigators also obtained screenshots of text messages that they say were sent by McLean where she reportedly admitted that she had a sexual relationship with the victim and knew it was wrong.
In the messages, McLean allegedly said, “I intentionally never initiated anything because I didn’t want to make him feel any kind of way,” and “I told myself each time that it wouldn’t happen again and I would say no. But then I let it happen again,” according to the report.
Jail records show McLean is facing felony charges, including engaging in sexual conduct with a student as an authority figure and distribution of controlled substances.
She remains behind bars in the Seminole County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon on a $35,000 bond.
The Seminole County School District told Orlando affiliate WKMG that she was placed on administrative leave as soon as the district was notified.
McLean is set to be arraigned on March 31.
