Orange County homeowners have the chance to get new roofs for free. It’s all through a partnership between Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando and Osceola County, and the Orange County government, which aims to replace the roofs of 100 homes based on income and home-value eligibility.Ginny Manzella, a homeowner who has benefited from the program, said, “We’re just so very grateful and very pleased and blessed to have that done. Now we don’t have to worry about the roof.” She added, “I would highly recommend it. It’s a wonderful program.”Liz Alicea-Madera, chief program officer, expressed her satisfaction with the program, saying, “I loved not only meeting the individuals who have received the service, but actually seeing the fruit of the labor…the roof looks fantastic. I knew exactly as we were walking up, which house it was. It looks brand new.”Two information sessions are happening tomorrow for those interested in learning more about the program, one at 10 a.m. and another at 6 p.m., both at the Habitat headquarters on Silver Star Road in Orlando.
