A former teacher at Apopka High School is behind bars after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.The teacher was identified as 26-year-old Gadiel Rivera-Nieves, according to the Apopka Police Department. He was arrested on Tuesday after an alleged sexual relationship that began in 2022 and lasted for over a year with a 17-year-old student. Rivera-Nieves was arrested and charged with sexual battery of a child between the ages of 12 and 18 by a person in custodial authority, Apopka PD said.
