With NFL free agency on the horizon, let’s begin tracking the early rumors and reports surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On Monday, March 9th, at 12:00 PM ET, the NFL’s legal tampering window opens. At this point, free agents can begin negotiating deals with new teams.

Then, on March 11th, at 4:00 PM ET, free agency officially opens, and any agreed-upon deals over the previous two days become official at that time.

Before free agency arrives, however, the Jaguars have some work to do with the salary cap. Jacksonville ranks near the bottom in salary cap space currently, with James Gladstone needing to make some cap maneuvers to create room to operate.

As of now, here are the latest reports and rumors surrounding the Jaguars. We will update this article as new info comes in.

A “nice market” for Travis Etienne

The Jaguars’ running back will be one of the best available players at this position. Coming out of the NFL combine, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Etienne “should have a nice market.”

Montaric Brown “well-positioned” in CB market

Fowler listed Brown among his “sleeper free agents” after speaking with NFL execs.

“He is well-positioned in the CB market after the top players are signed,” Fowler wrote. In Jordan Reid’s latest mock draft, he noted that, “Montaric Brown could price himself out of Jacksonville’s plans.”

Re-signing Brown would make a lot of sense for the Jaguars, but they could have some competition to do so.

Latest on Andrew Wingard

Wrapping up Fowler’s NFL combine notes, he also placed Andrew Wingard in the “sleeper free agent” category, adding that he will have the opportunity to be a start for a team.

“He capitalized on a starter role in Jacksonville and has early interest — not on a huge scale, but he will be a starter somewhere,” Fowler wrote.
