HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Commission took a step Wednesday toward making once-a-week watering permanent.

Commissioners passed a motion to explore limiting lawn watering to once a week year-round.

The proposed changes would apply only to homes using potable water for their lawns, not those using reclaimed water. The move aims to conserve drinking water.

The amendments would then go back before the commissioners. No timeline was provided for when that could happen.
