Brian Waddell got the Knights within one with a baseline drive with 52.9 seconds left, and then after Jacksonville’s Chris Lockett missed the front end of a one-and-one from the line with 27.6 seconds left, it was Waddell again. This time he got free for a dunk and an 80-79 Bellarmine lead with just 14.3 seconds left. Jacksonville’s Wood missed a turnaround jumper in the paint and Bellarmine’s Sam Donald pulled down the rebound. Donald hit both free throws with 2.9 seconds left and the Knights watched as Lockett’s three at the buzzer hit off the backboard. ” We made the play. Sam Donald, who’s a freshman, comes up with an unbelievable defensive rebound over one of the most physical teams in the league,” Bellarmine head coach Doug Davenport said. “Then he goes down and makes two free throws to ice the game.
