TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – For the first time in school history, Florida High wrestling won a region title, and that finish? Building off the program’s first ever district title two weeks ago.
Six Seminoles qualified for the state tournament this weekend, and four of them are heading in as region champions.
Head coach Clay Allen saying this group is focused, they know their ultimate goal , and the history they’ve already made won’t deter them from that.
“Saturday night we were riding high, and then Sunday morning you wake up and it’s like cool,” he said of their focus. “Now it’s a how high can we finish as a team, but really more how can we prepare each individual athlete to do their best because that’s the way we end up getting to where we want to get to and seeing how high we can end up.”
The FHSAA state championships start Thursday.
