TEMPLE TERRACE Fla. — Welcome to ClawZania Tampa, where you can find hundreds and hundreds of prizes — keychains, stuffed animals and toys — waiting to come home to you, courtesy of Tony Duong.

“This is huge in Japan, Taiwan, Korea,” said Duong.

Doung saw multi-story, 24-hour gaming centers thriving and decided to bring a smaller version to the Tampa Bay area.

The arcade’s opening celebrations were held the weekend of Feb. 28.

“We want to make sure our customers coming in, spending money and having a good time,” Duong said. “We want to make sure they actually win.”

They are several hybrid set-ups that are part video game, part prize picking.

Duong said players can keep their prizes, or save them up to trade for bigger things.

If successful in Hillsborough County, Duong said he hopes to expand into Pinellas County as well.
