The duo behind the beloved Magie Wine Bar will open a new spot in Little River this fall with shareable dishes and cocktails.

The pair has watched the neighborhood change and wants to make sure their new venture is part of that growth.

A Walk-in Only Kinda Bar with Great Eats
Bar Fideo is modeled after the high-energy bars found in Spanish markets. The vision for Bar Fideo is an answer to how hard it has become to land a dinner reservation in Miami – so Barros and Strauss are going the other direction, making Bar Fideo strictly walk-in only.
The goal is to create a spot where guests can stop by for a single plate or stay for several hours, depending on their mood. The menu will center on shareable dishes that match the neighborhood’s vibe. Barros plans to offer food that reflects his Dominican roots and professional training, focusing on simple dishes prepared with culinary finesse.
The service is intended to be approachable, catering to the people who live in the area rather than just the weekend crowds from other parts of the city.
The pair has watched the neighborhood change and wants to make sure their new venture is part of that growth.
A Neighborhood Stewardship
For Strauss and Barros, this expansion is more than a business move. They live and work in the neighborhood, and they view themselves as long-term stewards of the community.
By opening a second spot within walking distance of their first, they are betting that Little River can support a dining scene built on repeat visits. The pair has watched the neighborhood change and wants to make sure their new venture is part of that growth. They are intentionally avoiding the trend-chasing that often defines Miami’s hospitality.
Previews on the Terrace Coming Soon
While the official opening is scheduled for late this year, the neighborhood will get a preview of the concept soon. Starting this month, March 2026, Bar Fideo will host a series of pre-opening pop-ups on the terrace of the new space.
These events will feature early tastings of the menu and previews of the design as the building evolves. Additional details and pop-up dates will be shared through the bar’s Instagram account, @bar.fideo.
Bar Fideo. 8291 NE Second Ave., Little River. Opening Fall 2026.
