During the service, organizers Reverends R.B. Holmes and Stanley Walker will give keynote tributes. Other community leaders, like Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor, will also have the opportunity to share reflections on Jackson’s life and the impact he made.
“Reverend Jackson has come through Tallahassee time and again, compelled by issues for justice, for human rights, he’s been here,” he said. “That’s the compelling reason for those of us who respect him, who have cheered for him, who have voted for him and who have followed him and followed his advocacy; it gives us that final time to share and reflect on a great man.”
The service is expected to last until 8 p.m..
