Spirit Airlines has announced that the route from Arnold Palmer Regional Airport to Orlando Florida will be removed next month.

The discount airline announced the change on Wednesday, saying the last day the run will be made will be April 15th.  The next day, Spirit will resume its seasonal route to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  No reason was given by the company as to why the cut was made.

Westmoreland County Airport authority executive director Gabe Monzo said the Myrtle Beach route will run five days a week, but was disappointed to lose one of the popular trips they offer.

Spirit Airlines is in the process of emerging from its second bankruptcy, which is expected to wrap up later this year.  Local officials say they hope Spirit will maintain its routes through Latrobe as the company eliminated service at other airports in 2025.
