ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A portion of the Home Shopping Network’s longtime 65-acre campus in north St. Petersburg is under contract to be redeveloped as a massive industrial park, according to multiple reports.

Multifamily housing builder Greystar — the largest owner, manager, and developer of such properties in the U.S. — put the HSN site at 2501 118th Ave. N. under contract in late 2025, reports said.

The city of St. Petersburg’s Development Review Commission on Wednesday approved Greystar’s request to build more than 100,000 square feet of industrial warehouse space on 41 acres of the property, according to St. Pete Catalyst.

With the approval, the sale of the property is expected to close later this year, St. Pete Rising said.

Because the project doesn’t require the land to be rezoned, it doesn’t need approval from the St. Petersburg City Council.

HSN’s parent company, Pennsylvania-based Qurate Retail Group, announced in January 2025 its plans to close the St. Petersburg campus and moved the network to QRG’s West Chester headquarters.

With the closure of the campus, the company laid off about 730 workers and put the property on the market, represented by CBRE.

No plans for the remaining 24 acres at the site have been announced, and it’s not clear whether Greystar will also purchase this land, Tampa Bay Business Journal said.

On the 41 acres, the company will demolish all existing structures during the redevelopment’s first phase.

Plans call for the construction of three warehouses, each up to 45 feet tall, measuring 92,806 square feet, 145,406 square feet and 163,486 square feet, respectively, reports said. The buildings will have a blue, white and gray color scheme.
