Mr. Worldwide is getting into the real estate game.

The site of Miami-grown music star Pitbull’s childhood home in Wynwood may soon be transformed into a new office building that would house the headquarters of his music label, Mr. 305 Records.

Plans for a boutique office building at 25 NE 28th St. will go before the city of Miami’s Wynwood Development Review Committee next week for approval.

The proposed eight-story, 11,211-square-foot office building would replace a 720-square-foot single-family home where Pitbull spent part of his childhood.

According to Miami-Dade County property records, the two-bedroom, one-bathroom house was built in 1927 and sits on a 1,750 square foot lot. Fans need to act quickly if they want to take a selfie. The house has been permitted for demolition, according to city records.

The site is owned by Un Melon en Wynwood LLC, an entity with ties to Pitbull’s music label. The same company submitted the proposal for the office building to the city of Miami.

Pitbull’s Mr. 305 Records was founded in Miami in 2009 and represents over a dozen artists making Latin music.

Developer Rilea Group is partnering with Pitbull on the project. Rilea Group is also developing the neighboring multifamily project Mohawk at Wynwood and The Rider Residences, a luxury condo development on the same block.

“Rilea Group is honored to have been selected by Mr. 305 himself,” Luis Ojeda, Rilea Group project executive, said in a statement. “We are approaching the opportunity with care and look forward to thoughtfully bringing new life to the property as part of Wynwood’s continued evolution.”

Over the past two decades, Wynwood has transformed from a gritty warehouse district into an artsy hotspot with some of the city’s coolest restaurants and bars.

Documents submitted to the Wynwood Development Review Committee say the proposed building’s design took inspiration from Wynwood’s “industrial heritage,” using reclaimed brick and other materials. The Pitbull building will feature prominent public art “reflecting Wynwood’s strong tradition of gritty, street-art murals.”

Renderings of the offices show an industrial-style brick building with graffiti-style murals.

Back when Pitbull, born Armando Christian Pérez, was running around the Wynwood neighborhood, he was an up-and-coming rapper selling his mixtapes at clubs in South Beach, and doing odd jobs to support his music.

Born to Cuban immigrants in Miami, Pitbull was raised primarily by his mother after his parents split. Though things were tough at the outset (he’s often talked about getting in with the wrong crowd), the “Fireball” singer’s gone on to become one of the most successful artists in the business.

And he never forgot his roots. On March 5, aka 305 Day, he posted a throwback picture on Instagram, along with his signature phrase, “Daleee.”
