CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A tense situation unfolded in South Cape Coral when a homeowner allegedly pointed a handgun at a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer.
The incident began when the officer arrived at a residence to address a wildlife violation complaint.
After the homeowner retreated inside, FWC officers, with help from the Florida Highway Patrol and the Cape Coral Police Department, set up a perimeter around the home.
The homeowner, identified as John Battista Quartapella, eventually surrendered peacefully and was arrested for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
The investigation is ongoing, with FWC leading the efforts. No further details are available at this time.
