A pedestrian has been hit and killed by a train at U.S. 1 and Lewis Speedway, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

No other details have been released in the March 6 fatality, but the Sheriff’s Office advised in a 2:15 p.m. alert that the east and westbound lanes at that location were blocked for a large law enforcement presence. In a photo on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook, it appeared to be at or near the rail crossing.
