JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former Duval County Public School assistant principal has been found guilty on multiple charges, including stalking and battery, the State Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday.
Former Ribault High assistant principal Kenyanna Wilcox, 47, faces up to 10 years in state prison for criminal use of personal identification, official misconduct, battery and stalking charges.
Wilcox is said to have been in a relationship with an “administrative leader” from a local middle school from around November 2020 to February 2021.
On Sept. 19 2021, the SAO says Wilcox saw her ex-partner at a Jaguars game, to which he was with another woman.
Upon hearing this information, the SAO says Wilcox “got angry,” which resulted in her “confronting him and punching him in the face.” After the assault, she reportedly “threatened to ruin the victim’s career.”
The following day, several Duval County School Board leaders, including the superintendent, received a complaint alleging the victim was selling drugs to minors and operating an illegal gabling ring, according to the SAO.
Duval County School Police investigated the complaint, and reportedly determined the allegations to be “baseless.” The SAO said a parallel forensic investigation revealed that Wilcox created a fake email address bearing the name of a parent of a Ribault High School student to send the false complaint.
The parent whose name was used did not know Wilcox and did not give her permission to use their name, the SAO said.
According to court records, Wilcox has been granted a $40,012 bond for her release until her sentencing takes place; if released, she is ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor and have no contact with the victims.
Wilcox will have her sentencing date set on March 30.
