Does anyone else detect a pattern of Orlando theme parks removing pink this year? Similar to Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom, where the pink sections are turning to their classic gray, the ticketing buildings at Universal Studios Florida have changed from pink to white.

On a recent visit to Universal Studios Florida, we noticed some progress on repainting efforts for the park’s ticketing structures.

Sitting just past the Universal Studios gate, the ticketing booths are divided into two sections flanking the main entry path to the park’s main gate. The ticketing booths are housed within larger structures – the subjects of this current repainting effort.

The Universal Administration building, which currently houses a guest services counter, sits adjacent to the ticketing structure on the right side (relative to guests entering the park). Both buildings were originally painted in the same blush pink hue.

The Administration building so far retains its older pink color scheme. The exterior of the two-story ticketing building on the right side, however, is freshly repainted in a bright white.

The exterior of the left one-story ticketing building is also completely repainted in the same white.

Of note on our latest visit, work appears to be underway on painting the interior portions of these structures to match the same bright white. Support columns, banisters, and other surfaces on the interior of the ticketing structure now match the exterior white udpate. The ticket booths themselves, however, currently retain the old pink look.

Back over on the right side of the walkway, there appears to be more work to be done, with fewer elements updated in the new white. Note that this building includes ceilings requiring repainting, where the left-side building features skylights in the same areas.

Universal has not officially announced details around this repainting project, or the full extent of work to be expected, but the work done so far suggests that other areas of the park featuring the same pink coloration may undergo a similar facelift.

Elsewhere in central Florida, the repainting of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom – coincidentally, is also removing its pink and is moving along at a steady pace.
