BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Soccer fans will pack M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday as D.C. United faces Inter Miami CF in a highly anticipated match featuring Lionel Messi.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The match is being held in Baltimore because M&T Bank Stadium offers a larger seating capacity for fans.

D.C. rapper Wale is set to perform at halftime.

Traffic impacts:

High traffic volumes are anticipated downtown today for the game. Road and lane closures were implemented at 11:30 a.m. for the event.

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation announced the following closures:

The northbound Russell Street Service Drive alongside M&T Bank Stadium will be closed between West and Hamburg Streets prior to and during the game.The Hamburg Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Leaden Hall and Paca Streets for game ingress. Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the second half.The Ostend Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Sharp and Warner Streets for game ingress. Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the second half.A special traffic pattern will be temporarily installed along Warner Street between the Ostend Street Bridge and Stockholm Street for game ingress and railroad crossings.Special traffic patterns will be installed along Warner Street, Alluvion Street, Worcester Street, and Bayard Street for game egress at the start of the second half.Hamburg Street will be temporarily closed between Hanover and Charles Streets for egress at the start of the second half.No southbound travel will be permitted along Hanover Street between Henrietta and Hamburg Streets at the start of the second half. All traffic will be diverted onto Henrietta Street for east or westbound travel.Warner Street is currently closed between Worcester and W. Ostend Streets. Gameday traffic for fans entering and exiting the stadium will use a one-way lane: northbound for entry (ingress) and southbound for exit (egress) on Warner Street. A designated pedestrian walkway will also be in place.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to follow all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the surrounding neighborhoods.
