PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A wind-driven fire tore through a home in Port St. Lucie Friday afternoon, challenging firefighters as they worked to contain the blaze.

At 1:33 p.m., units from the St. Lucie County Fire District say they were called to the Alhombra South neighborhood to find the home already heavily involved in flames.

Firefighters say winds exceeding 10 mph helped drive the fire and complicated containment efforts.
