The Jacksonville Dolphins aim for their second ASUN Conference Championship as they face Austin Peay, following a streak of 12 wins in their last 13 games.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Dolphins will play for the program’s second ever ASUN Conference Championship on Monday.

The Dolphins locked up their spot in the Title Game by knocking off Central Arkansas 67-58 in the quarterfinals at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m so proud of these young ladies, it’s hard to put into words the type of season we’ve had and continue to have,” head coach Special Jennings said. “It’s about them it’s always been about them and I’m happy that they’re reaping the benefits.”

The Phins grabbed contributions from everyone with six different players scoring eight or more. Makiya Miller totaled a team-high 12 points, while Bailey Burns was second on the team in scoring with 10. Freshman Tatum Brown scored nine and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, tying her collegiate best outing. It was her fourth game this season with double-digit rebounds.

The win marked the teams 12th out of their past 13. One more win will tie the 2017-18 team’s 24-9 school record.

This will be the sixth time the Dolphins have made the Championship game. The last and only time they won was back in 2015-16 with coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.

The Dolphins (2) will face Austin Peay (8) in the title game on ESPNU at 5 p.m., with the winner securing an NCAA Tournament bid.
