NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The third-ranked Vanderbilt bowling team hits the road for the second weekend in a row when the Commodores head to Orlando, Florida, to compete at Sacred Heart’s Destination Orlando.
This is the third consecutive year that Vandy has attended this event. The Commodores notched top 5 finishes in 2023 and 2024.
The Dores opened their season at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic, earning a fifth-place finish. Vandy earned the No. 3 seed heading into bracket play, defeating four ranked opponents, including defending NCAA champion Youngstown State, during qualifying. Freshman Katelyn Abigania notched a top 10 individual finish in her collegiate debut, and junior Dannielle Henderson earned an 11th-place finish in her first event as a Commodore. During bracket play, Vanderbilt fell to No. 6 Arkansas State and Youngstown State but defeated No. 11 Sacred Heart to finish fifth.
Looking to the weekend, nine of the nation’s top 10 teams will compete at Destination Orlando. The full list of competing teams includes Alabama A&M, RV Alabama State, Arkansas State, Bryant, No. 12 Duquesne, RV Emmanuel, Florida A&M, No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 9 Louisiana Tech, No. 16 Maryland-Eastern Shore, No. 10 Maryville, No. 14 Mount Saint Mary’s, No. 7 North Carolina A&T, No. 2 Nebraska, Prairie View A&M, Sacred Heart, Saint Anselm, Texas Southern, Tulane, No. 18 UAB, Valparaiso, Vanderbilt, No. 5 Wichita State and No. 4 Youngstown State.

Saturday – five traditional games beginning at 7:25 a.m.
Sunday – three best-of-seven Baker matches beginning at 7:25 a.m.
