An investigation is underway in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a Brightline train, police said.

According to Fort Lauderdale Police, at around 1:30 a.m., officers arrived at the 700 block of North Andrews Avenue after receiving reports of a Brightline train that hit a pedestrian.

Once at the scene, officers found the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased.

Their identity has not been released.

Police said the scene has since been cleared and that the train is running.
