THIS WEEKEND: The Red and White continue conference play by traveling to Toledo this weekend for a pair of matches. The first match of the weekend will take place on Friday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m., and the second match will happen on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. 

ABOUT TOLEDO: Toledo went 17-15 and held a 10-8 record in the MAC in 2024. The Rockets are currently 16-5 after starting conference play 7-2 (second in conference standings), as they most recently grabbed a pair of matches at Northern Illinois. Toledo was chosen to finish sixth in the 2025 MAC Volleyball Coaches Poll.

Heading into this week’s matches, Toledo has a few players who rank among the top of the MAC statistically. On offense, Kelsey Smith (0.36/set), Sierra Pertzborn (0.36/set), Avery Adamski (0.38/set) and Grace Freiberger (0.41/set) are all top 10 players from the service line in the conference. Furthermore, Smith also stands at third in the MAC in assists (9.54/set). On the defensive side, Pertzborn is second in blocks (1.26/set) and Freiberger is second in digs (4.26/set).

SERIES WITH THE ROCKETS: The Red and White are 46-16 all-time when taking on the Rockets. Miami is currently on a four-match losing streak versus Toledo. The RedHawks last defeated the Rockets 3-1 at Toledo on Oct. 29, 2021.

TELEVISION: Both Friday and Saturday’s matches versus the Toledo Rockets can be watched on ESPN+.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks continue conference play on the road with a match at Ball State on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.

NUMBERS WATCH: Gentry Warrick is currently tied for fourth all-time in Miami history with 1.00 career blocks per set. She holds a total of 82 career solo blocks (fifth all-time in Miami history). Warrick also ranks fourth in the nation in total blocks (108) and 19th in blocks per set (1.40). Warrick currently leads the MAC in both total blocks and blocks per set. Warrick’s .289 hitting percentage also ranks ninth in the conference. The Red and White stand at 21st in the country in team total blocks (193.5) as well. 

RECENT ACTION: The RedHawks are coming off a week where they went 1-1 against the Kent State Golden Flashes at home. Offensively, junior outside hitter Chelsea Williams recorded 3.75 kills per set while maintaining a .231 hitting percentage over the two matches. Defensively, senior libero/defensive specialist Lindsay Kahren totaled 31 digs (3.88 digs/set) and went 34-for-34 (1.00) in serve receive across the two matches. On Thursday, Kahren had 16 digs to help the RedHawks win a five-set match over the Golden Flashes in a night where she reached 1,000 career digs. Senior Hayden Hicks also reached a career milestone of 2,000 assists against the Ball State Cardinals on Oct. 7. 

CAN YOU DIG IT: Freshman outside hitter Molly Creech and redshirt junior libero/defensive specialist Anna McClure each rank inside the top 10 for digs per set in the MAC. Entering this weekend, Creech holds the ninth spot (3.39 digs/set), and McClure  is 10th (3.25/set) in digs per set. Since the start of conference play, senior libero/defensive specialist Lindsay Kahren also ranks among the best in the conference (3.53/set).

FRESHMEN IMPACT: Freshmen Molly Creech, Lauren Coyne, Grace Kreutz and Lindy Radaszewski have seen significant action during the 2025 season. Creech has recorded 2.34 kills per set (second on the team), 3.39 digs per set (first on the team), 0.37 blocks per set (fifth on the team) and 0.16 service aces per set (fourth on the team). Coyne has put down 2.16 kills per set (third on the team) and 0.76 blocks per set (tied for second on the team). Radaszewski is fifth on the team with in service aces per set (0.15) and Kreutz ranks first in service aces per set (0.21).
