Deputies say the man’s motorcycle crashed for unknown reasons before he was hit by two vehicles.

LAKELAND, Fla. — A Hillsborough County motorcyclist is dead after he was hit by two vehicles in Polk County Saturday night.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 8:40 p.m. to County Line Road and Gateway Boulevard, west of Lakeland, where it was initially reported a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

When officials arrived, they realized the man, identified as 29-year-old Justin Fuller of Plant City, was actually riding a motorcycle when it crashed for unknown reasons. Detectives found no evidence that the motorcycle was hit by another vehicle.

Investigators believe Fuller was driving northbound on County Line Road when it went down, ejected him around 75-feet and came to a stop in the southbound lane, where he was hit by two vehicles.

The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

PCSO said a motorcycle helmet was found near Fuller, but it’s unclear if he was wearing it at the time of the crash.

County Line Road was closed in both directions for around four hours while officials conducted an evidence search, processing and investigation.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
