Florida – Headlights glow through thick gray haze across Tallahassee this morning as dense fog blankets roads and neighborhoods. Visibility has dropped sharply across parts of the Florida Panhandle, slowing early drivers and creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Visibility may fall to one-quarter mile or less in pockets of dense fog. Calm winds and extremely high humidity near 97 percent have allowed the fog to settle across inland counties.

Drivers across Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, and Jefferson counties may encounter sudden visibility drops. Conditions can change quickly along Interstate 10, U.S. Route 27, and Capital Circle. Use low-beam headlights and increase following distance if traveling early today.

The fog should gradually thin through midmorning as sunlight strengthens. Once it lifts, the region shifts into a much warmer pattern. Afternoon temperatures climb toward 85°F, bringing an early taste of spring warmth to North Florida.

The warm trend continues through Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs may reach the mid-80s, with patchy morning fog possible each day due to lingering humidity and calm winds.

Meteorologists are also tracking a developing rain pattern later in the week. Showers and thunderstorms may arrive by Thursday morning, bringing widespread rain across the Panhandle and southern Georgia. Wet pavement and brief downpours could affect travelers, especially with spring break traffic increasing across Florida highways.

For now, the main concern is the thick fog lingering across Tallahassee this morning. Slow down, allow extra travel time, and watch for sudden visibility changes.
