A 32-year-old woman died after being struck March 6 by a Nissan on U.S. 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol on March 9.

The incident was reported at 7:10 p.m. March 6 in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 at Savanna Club Boulevard, which is just north of Southeast Crosstown Parkway, the FHP stated.

According to the FHP, the woman was walking east across U.S. 1 as a 2014 Nissan Juke, driven by a 53-year-old Stuart man, traveled south on U.S. 1 with a green light at the Savanna Club Boulevard intersection, the FHP stated.

The woman “ran into the direct path” of the Nissan, and the crash occurred.

The woman, a local resident, was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

FHP did not release the name of the deceased.
