LEE COUNTY, Fla.—The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of possessing meth, along with a variety of weapons, including explosive devices.

Deputies arrested Christian Vasconcellos, 47, on Friday following a traffic stop conducted by the sheriff’s office tactical narcotics unit.

According to law enforcement, deputies discovered meth, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and approximately 300 rounds of ammunition inside Vasconcellos’s vehicle.

Further investigation conducted by deputies found that Vasconcellos had an active court order prohibiting him from possessing firearms, after being released from custody in Collier County less than a week earlier.

Deputies detained him, which prompted further investigation, along with a search warrant being issued for his home.

Their search yielded the following:

• Eight explosive devices

• Four rifles

• Three shotguns

• Six handguns

• Three firearm suppressors

• Four tasers

• Approximately 8,000 rounds of ammunition

• Twenty-seven grams of meth

Upon discovery of the eight explosive devices, the sheriff’s office bomb squad was called to safely perform a controlled destruction of the devices.
