CAPE CORAL, Fla.—Several first responder agencies are on scene rescuing a construction worker trapped under a concrete pipe.
Law enforcement responded to the construction site located on 2505 SW Third Ave at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Currently, Urban Search and Rescue, Lee County Emergency Medical Services, the fire department and the police department are responding to this scene.
WINK News reporter Camila Pereira is on the scene gathering information regarding this rescue.
According to the Cape Coral Fire Department’s public information officer, the construction worker is wedged in a ditch with a concrete pipe. They could not say how long it would take to rescue the worker, saying “it will probably be a while.”
When asked how deep the ditch is, the PIO said, “I don’t sorry. I really won’t know anything until they are done with the operation.”

It remains unclear how the worker became trapped underneath the concrete pipe.
