ST. LUCIE COUNTY – A 32-year-old woman was killed on March 6 when she apparently ran into the path of an oncoming car at Savannah Club Boulevard and U.S. 1, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The woman was crossing U.S. 1 east from Savannah Club Boulevard, north of Southeast Crosstown Parkway, at about 7:10 p.m., March 6 when a 2014 black Nissan Juke driven by a 53-year-old man from Stuart struck her, according to FHP reports.
The driver of the Nissan was headed south on U.S. 1 in the inside lane and the traffic signal was green at U.S. 1, according to the FHP.
The woman was flown to HCA St Lucie Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from the injuries she sustained in the accident, according to the FHP.
The FHP has not released the names of the woman nor the driver, who was not injured in the accident.
