MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A dramatic structure fire consumed a single-family home in Stuart on Sunday afternoon, just moments after bystanders heard a “loud pop.”

Martin County Fire Rescue said that crews responded to the structure fire on Sunday in the 1800 block of SW Kanner Hwy after 1 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters reported finding a single-family wood-frame home with a metal roof engulfed in significant flames.

Witnesses on scene reported that they heard a “loud pop” just before the fire began.

The fire was mainly concentrated at the rear of the home near the weatherhead. Officials said that firefighters were able to achieve a quick knockdown of the blaze.

Martin County Fire Rescue said that no injuries have been reported, and a state investigator is now looking into the cause of the fire to determine exactly what happened.

Additionally, officials reported that a boat on the property sustained some exposure to the flames.
