After suffering its first loss of the 2025 season last week, the No. 9 Miami football team is bringing a new look into Saturday’s matchup against Stanford.
On Thursday, the Hurricanes revealed their new “Camo Mode” uniforms for Saturday’s home matchup, which is their “Military Appreciation Game.”
Miami opened the season with a 5-0 record before suffering a 24-21 loss to Louisville on Friday. The Hurricanes were ranked No. 2 in the AP Top 25 before the loss. Senior quarterback Carson Beck, who was among the early favorites to win the Heisman Trophy, threw for no touchdowns and four interceptions in the game.
Miami coach Mario Cristobal didn’t hold back his criticism of his team after the mistake-filled performance.
“That’s a really poor job of execution and discipline,” Cristobal said after the game, per ESPN’s David Hale. “That’s all of us — every player and every coach. After having some really good performances and working really hard in practice, that’s really disappointing. We’re all disappointed. We’re all pissed.”
The Hurricanes will be carrying that anger into their showdown against the Cardinal, who improved to 3-4 this year with last week’s 20-13 win over Florida State. Stanford is hoping that momentum will lift the team to a second straight upset victory, which would mark the first time this season that it earned back-to-back wins.
However, Miami surely will be extra motivated to bounce back from its first loss, and the team will do everything to avoid disappointing its home fans in a game that is meant to honor the military.
