A mother has been arrested after being accused of multiple thefts at Walmart, which she involved her son in.
According to a report from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Sunday at the Walmart on Pine Island Road, North Fort Myers.
The incident led to charges against the mother, Heather Marie Davis.
The report says that a Walmart Asset Protection Officer observed and recorded Davis and her 12-year-old son stealing items worth $237.17. The stolen goods were hidden in a black purse and backpack as the duo exited the store without paying.Â
The officer confronted them outside and escorted them back inside, where he called law enforcement.
Davis was charged with retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified for intervention due to the involvement of her son.
Davis was taken to the Lee County Jail without incident. Her son was not charged and was returned home by a deputy.
