Broward Schools Superintendent Howard Hepburn may have to cut up to 1,000 a year for the next 3 years under a plan approved by the School Board.
Members voted 6-3 to support a proposal aimed at closing budget gaps tied to steep enrollment declines.
Hepburn says classroom teachers will not be included in the cuts, which are projected to save roughly 250 million dollars a year.
Hepburn has already begun a round of reductions for this year and must present the full three-year plan by July.
