The Cape Coral-Fort Myers metro ranked No. 3 nationally for inbound homebuyer migration in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to a new report from Redfin. The region recorded a net inflow of 4,098 Redfin home searchers, with Chicago the top origin for buyers relocating to Southwest Florida. Nearby North Port-Sarasota ranked No. 4, while Miami and Orlando also placed in the top 10. Nationally, nearly 1 in 5 house hunters — 18.8% — searched for homes outside their current metro area, up from 17.9% a year earlier. Redfin’s rankings are based on the net inflow of users searching for homes on Redfin.com across the 100 largest U.S. metros. The company analyzes where users are searching for homes compared with the metro area where they currently live.Â
