MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A man wanted in connection to a Florida murder investigation was arrested in Monroe County early Wednesday morning.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said that Roemal Charles was wanted out of Marion County in Florida in an “active homicide investigation.”

They said that just before 3 a.m., the Marion County Sheriff’s Office told Monroe County to be on the lookout for Charles.

They told Monroe County that Charles was going north on I-75 and would probably pass through the county.

Charles was being tracked through a rental car that he was believed to be driving, and Monroe deputies found it.

They were then able to stop the car and arrest Charles.

He is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail and waiting to be taken back to Florida.
