CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Police are on the lookout for a man who attempted to break into a business but faced an unexpected hurdle.
The suspect was caught on camera outside Tio Jewelers on Sunday night, armed with a large rock. He threw it at the window, but the rock bounced off and crumbled.
“He needs to pick better rocks, maybe?” said Jeff Santella, who owns Martial Arts University just a few doors down.
Santella expressed relief that his business was not targeted, and the suspect did not succeed in breaking into Tio Jewelers.
“If they break in here, it’d be the wrong choice that day,” said Santella.
Cape Coral police reported that the man did manage to break into another business and steal items, though it is unclear which store. They also suspect he is connected to a break-in at a nearby business back in January.
“It worked out with the rock not being the best rock and the windows being strong,” said Santella.
