The city of Sanibel will hold a Broadband Feasibility Study Community Workshop on March 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
Attendees will learn about the study, which is evaluating current high-speed internet coverage on Sanibel, community satisfaction with existing services and future broadband needs.
The city selected Tectonic Engineering to lead the study.
The workshop will entail:
– Brief overview of the Broadband Feasibility Study
– Discussion of current internet coverage and service levels
– Q&A with city staff and Tectonic Engineering representatives
“Community participation is important to help the city better understand the challenges residents experience with high-speed internet access and to plan for future connectivity needs,” it shared. “We encourage residents to attend and share their feedback.”

In exploring ways to expand existing services and bring faster, more reliable internet to Sanibel’s residents and businesses, the city has launched a quick online survey as part of its effort to gather input on current internet experiences and ideas for future improvements.
