On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Midpoint Bridge will close from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Runners and walkers will take over the span between Cape Coral and Fort Myers for the Midpoint Madness Veterans Day 5K.
Starting Nov. 3, warning signs will alert motorists about the upcoming closure. During the event, traffic must detour to the Cape Coral Bridge or take the alternate route across U.S. 41 and Business 41 bridges.
At 6:30 p.m., participants will start from Royal Palm Square at 1400 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers. The local YMCA branch organizes this annual tribute to veterans, with festivities planned near the bridge.
Royal Palm Square serves as the central hub for the event. Its spacious grounds provide ample space for cars and the planned activities that bookend the race.
