JetBlue continues to solidify its dominance as Fort Lauderdale’s top airline. On March 12, 2026, the carrier unveiled plans to expand service on four high-demand routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

This move underscores JetBlue’s ongoing investment in its key South Florida focus city. A major highlight is the upgrade of flights between Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville (JAX).

Previously limited to peak spring break periods, this intrastate route will now operate daily year-round starting June 18, 2026.

Travelers gain reliable nonstop connections between Northeast Florida and South Florida, meeting steady demand for convenient travel within the state.

JetBlue Fort Lauderdale Service Expansion

The expansions also include:

Boosting service to Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) from four weekly flights to daily year-round operations, beginning June 11, 2026.

Increasing flights to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) from once daily to twice daily year-round, effective June 18.

Doubling frequencies to Tampa (TPA) from once daily to twice daily year-round, also starting June 18.

These enhancements build on JetBlue’s strong momentum at FLL.

Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of revenue, network, and enterprise planning at JetBlue, explained the decision. “These additions reflect the strength of demand we’re seeing in Fort Lauderdale and our continued commitment to building depth in our South Florida focus city.”

“We’re proud to continue investing in Fort Lauderdale with more year-round flying and added frequencies, ensuring it remains one of the strongest and most connected cities in our network.”

JetBlue Presence at Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale holds special significance for JetBlue—it was the airline’s very first destination more than 26 years ago. Today, it serves as a cornerstone of the network. Over the past year alone, JetBlue has introduced 20 additional destinations from FLL.

The airline now offers the highest number of departures at the airport and connects passengers to dozens of nonstop options across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

This growth positions JetBlue firmly as FLL’s leading carrier, outpacing competitors and providing more choices for both business and leisure travelers.

Recent expansions, including year-round service to cities like Orlando and Dallas earlier in 2026, further highlight the airline’s focus on Florida connectivity.

Customers appreciate JetBlue’s distinctive onboard experience, which sets it apart in a competitive market. Flyers enjoy fast, free unlimited Fly-Fi® Wi-Fi, seatback entertainment screens at every seat, and complimentary snacks and beverages on most flights.

These amenities contribute to high customer satisfaction and loyalty in South Florida.

Conclusion

By prioritizing year-round reliability and increased frequencies, JetBlue meets evolving traveler needs while boosting economic ties between regions.

The expansions support tourism, business travel, and family visits, reinforcing Fort Lauderdale’s role as a vibrant gateway.

As JetBlue keeps growing its footprint at FLL, passengers can look forward to even greater convenience and connectivity.
