TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – PBR is bringing its show to Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time this weekend, and preparations are underway to welcome thousands of fans in for the highly anticipated event.
More than 5 million pounds of dirt were hauled in to cover the ground of the stadium. Ben Zierden, senior associate athletics director, said being able to host large events like PBR takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes, but it’s satisfying to see it all come together.
“Our grounds crew talking about what the capabilities are, we talk about power, talk about all of the grass and access,” he said. “One of the reasons we had the renovations with Doak Campbell Stadium was to make this possible.”
