MAR seeks volunteers for post-St. Patrick’s Day cleanup

Mindful Action for Regeneration (MAR) is hosting a post-St. Patrick’s Day Pinellas Trail cleanup, Wednesday, March 18 from 5:30 until 7 p.m.

The cleanup will take place from 49th Street S. to 34th Street S., beginning at Trailhead Park, 3800 Fairfield Avenue S., St. Petersburg. Parking for approximately 30 cars is available, along with residential street parking.

Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle. All cleanup supplies will be provided, including buckets, pickers and gloves. Anyone wearing green will be entered into a raffle to win prizes.

A.L. Anderson Park Rain Garden Workday

Pinellas County, in partnership with Keep Pinellas Beautiful, is working to restore the Anderson Park Rain Garden in Tarpon Springs and welcomes volunteers to help prepare the space for planting Tuesday, March 24 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and clothing they don’t mind getting dirty. Long sleeves, a hat, sunglasses and a refillable water bottle are recommended. All supplies and tools will be provided.

It’s a great opportunity for participants to get their hands in the soil, meet fellow gardeners and help beautify the area for the community to enjoy.

Volunteer at the SPCA Tampa Bay Pet Walk

The SPCA Tampa Bay is holding its 35th Annual Pet Walk, Saturday, March 28 at Largo Central Park from 8 a.m. until noon, and volunteers are needed to fill a variety of spots.

Funds raised through the Pet Walk support programs such as a pet food bank, vaccine clinics and senior pet care packages, Proceeds also help the SPCA rescue, rehabilitate and rehome homeless pets while providing medical care for injured and orphaned wildlife.

Volunteer opportunities include event and registration set-up beginning at 5:30 a.m.; refreshing dog bowls and kiddie pools, taking photos of guests, working in the VIP – Top Paw Pavillion and cheerleading along the route throughout the morning; and event and registration breakdown ending at 1 p.m.

Participants must be 16 years and older and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Indian Rocks food pantry seeks help

Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc. is seeking volunteers to help with the Beach Community Food Pantry in Indian Rocks Beach.

Various opportunities are available, including picking up and unloading food and other pantry items, marking inventory and sorting through donations, shopping, cleaning, gardening support and other tasks.

Most jobs take place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with other offering flexible timelines.

The Beach Community Food Pantry is located at 191 13th Ave., Indian Rocks Beach.
