CLEVELAND, Ohio – Bengals star left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. signed a two-year extension on Thursday, the team announced.

Brown served as his own agent in contract negotiations, the Bengals said in a news release. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

The extension keeps Brown in Cincinnati through the 2028 NFL season. He previously signed a four-year, $64 million free agent contract with the Bengals in March 2023.

“The city, the team, this is what I envisioned for myself,” Brown said in the release. “Having that stability. Being somewhere I want to be. I think the feeling is mutual from upstairs down.

“The city has taken me in with my work in the community. The people have that blue-collar mindset. This is a hard-working city. They love their Bengals football. It’s a football city,” he added.

Brown, 29, has started 45 games in three seasons with the Bengals. He has earned four Pro Bowl selections in eight NFL seasons with the Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. He also won Super Bowl LVII while with the Chiefs during the 2022 NFL season.

Brown, the son of former Cleveland Browns and Ravens tackle Orlando “Zeus” Brown, was drafted by Baltimore in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-8, 350-pound tackle described his contract deliberations with Bengals assistant general manager Steven Radecivic as a “smooth negotiation.”

“Steve was great just being honest and up front,” Brown said in the release. “The deal creates a sense of stability for myself and the organization. I didn’t necessarily feel the need to reset the market. We have great players in this locker room. It’s rare for a player to say, but making it team friendly … The way that I see it, it puts me and my family and the organization in a good spot.”
