CLEVELAND – The top-seeded Miami RedHawks and sixth-seeded Toledo Rockets will battle for the 2026 MAC Women’s Basketball Title on Saturday, March 14 at 11 a.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

No. 1 Miami: ON TAP: Miami faces Toledo in the MAC Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, March 14 at 11 a.m. The winner of Saturday’s game advances to play in the NCAA Tournament.

 Amber Tretter has 30 double-doubles (third-best in program history) in her career and is a near walking double-double in points (14.2) and rebounds (8.1) this season. She is on pace to become just the second RedHawk in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds and has scored 1,116 career points, which ranks 22nd in program history. She has scored in double figures in 26 of 33 games this season.

Miami has four players averaging double-digits, led by Amber Tretter (14.2 ppg.). She is joined by Amber Scalia (13.7 ppg.), Ilse de Vries (12.6 ppg.) and Tamar Singer (10.8 ppg.). Tretter has led the team in scoring nine times, while Singer and Scalia have done it seven times apiece. de Vries is not far behind, with six.

The last time Miami played in a MAC Title Game was back on March 15, 2008 … Which is also Miami’s only MAC Tournament Championship win in program history.

Miami is currently third in the MAC in scoring (71.1) and first in defense (58.5), which results in a 12.6 point margin of victory, second-best in the conference. The RedHawks are second in the MAC in field goal percentage (44.7%), three-point percentage (35.4%) and free throw percentage (76.0%). Miami is first in turnover margin (4.9) and second in blocked shots (3.8).

Miami captured its first regular season championship since the 2003-04 season, and are 27-6 overall and 16-2 in MAC play, but those are not the only highlights this season. The 27 wins are the most in program history, while the 16 conference wins are second-best. Miami opened conference play 11-0, the best start in program history. Miami had a 13-game win streak from Dec. 20-Feb. 10, the second-best win streak in school history (best is 14). 21 of their 27 wins are by double digits. Three of Miami’s six loses are by two possessions or less.

 Miami took home six post-season awards on Tuesday morning. Glenn Box was named MAC Coach of the Year (first Miami CoY since 2004). Amber Tretter (first team), Tamar Singer (third team) and Ilse de Vries (third team) earned All-MAC accolades and Singer and de Vries added spots on the All-MAC Defensive Team.

MAC TOURNAMENT RECAP:

Versus No. 8 Kent State: Trailing 15-13 late in the first period, the RedHawks scored 14 unanswered points to take the lead for good. The Red and White kept the Flashes off the scoreboard for more than six minutes and forced 16 empty possessions in a row for KSU (12 misses, four turnovers). Tamar Singer had 25 points and seven assists in Miami’s 65-58 win.

Versus No. 5 Ohio: Miami drilled 16-of-32 three pointers in an 80-52 win over Ohio on Friday. Clara Gonzalez Planella and Amber Scalia made five triples apiece and Amber Tretter had 14 points and 11 rebounds, her 30th double-double of her career.

No. 6 Toledo: Toledo will be playing for its 10th MAC Championship Tournament title. Its last tourney title came in 2023. Toledo will make its 17th all-time appearance in the MAC Tournament title game.

Graduate student Patricia Anumgba scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Toledo women’s basketball team to a 69-65 victory over No. 2 seed Ball State in MAC Tournament semifinal action at Rocket Arena in Cleveland on Friday.

In addition to her career-high 29 points, Anumgba also set a career high with 11 field goals made. She had the second-most rebounds of her career with nine, only behind Wednesday’s 12-rebound effort.Anumgba scored at least 20 points for the eighth time this season, all coming since Jan. 14 Ella Weaver scored in double figures and knocked down multiple threes (2-for-3) for the sixth time this season. Kendall Carruthers (12 points) reached double figures for the 20th time this season.Â
