PORT ST. LUCIE – A Stuart man was arrested on Oct. 21 after he allegedly threw a rock at an occupied Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) car at Wawa in the 10300 SW Village Parkway, Port St. Lucie, according to Port St. Lucie police reports.

A federal agent was driving through the Wawa parking lot at about 10:30 a.m., after making an arrest when Pasqual Velasquez Martin, 19, of the 4500 block of SE Salvatori Rd., Stuart, allegedly picked up a landscaping rock from the north side of the parking lot and threw it at the ICE car, shattering the rear window, according to police reports.

Velasquez Martin then fled the parking lot, but was located by federal agents between the nearby MD Now Urgent Care and PDQ restaurant where they took him into custody without further incident. No federal agents were injured in the attack.

A witness confirmed that Velasquez Martin, son of the person being arrested by ICE agents, threw the rock, according to police reports.

Velasquez Martin was charged with one count of throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, a second-degree felony. Velazquez Martin is in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
