CLEVELAND – The top-seeded Miami RedHawks defeated the sixth-seeded Toledo Rockets, 68-58, in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon inside Rocket Arena.
This marks Miami’s first MAC Tournament title since 2008 and their second overall in program history.
The RedHawks used a hot start to claim the hardware, jumping out to a 16-0 lead in the opening seven minutes of the contest.
This season, Miami captured its first regular season championship since the 2003-04 season, and are 27-6 overall and 16-2 in MAC play, but those are not the only highlights this season.
The 28 wins are the most in program history, while the 16 conference wins rank as second-best. Additionally, Miami opened conference play 11-0, the best start in program history.
The RedHawks had a 13-game win streak from Dec. 20-Feb. 10, the second-best win streak in school history (best is 14).
Miami will find out its NCAA Tournament fate on Sunday, March 15 at 8 p.m. ET. The show will air live on ESPN.
